Wishart Node of The Metabolomics Innovation Centre

Making Metabolomics Matter

since 1999

The Metabolomics Innovation Centre (TMIC) is a non-profit metabolomics core facility at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, founded by Dr. David Wishart, a pioneer and leader in metabolomics, to provide metabolomic analysis.  We provide an accessible, affordable alternative to a commercial company in industry, all while maintaining strict standards of quality and accuracy.  Explore our metabolomics services, including mass spectrometry (LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS), NMR, and UV-LC. We do targeted and untargeted metabolomics, plus proteomics and lipidomics. We use both in-house and third-party assays to identify, measure, and quantify metabolites involved in various organisms and metabolic pathways from many sample types (human, animal, plant, vitamin, cholesterol, steroids, nucleobases, etc.).  Our work enables biomarker identification and validation.  We create software, web servers, and databases for the metabolomics community and for the public. We are experts in metabolomics, and we produce experts. Check out our tutorials, our publications, our quality management at work for our clients, our research hotel for those new to metabolomics research, and more!

Did you know we've helped develop multiple spin-off companies to serve the scientific community, both within and outside of metabolomics? Learn more about these services on our website: https://buff.ly/3JtJ8NX @Chenomx @DrugBankDB @molecularyou @QboostI

The Research Hotel is a training program with the mission to provide new researchers with access to core facilities, office space, and active training and mentoring. Since we started the program in 2011, researchers from over 16 countries have joined: https://buff.ly/42oUxr0
